Note that "In School" volunteering does not necessarily mean that the volunteer work needs to be physically done in the school during school hours.  Some volunteer opportunities listed below can be done off hours at your convenience.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:
 
Volunteers clip and count box tops collected by the children.  These are sent out twice a school year to receive funds. 

CLASSROOM HELP: 
Volunteers help in various classrooms; day and times vary depending on teacher’s requests and your availability.

COMPUTER ASSISTANCE: 
Volunteers help with supervising and instructing students using computers.  Times and days vary depending on teacher’s request and your availability.  Usually weekly. 


COPYING/LAMINATING/BINDING:
 
Volunteers run the photocopying machine, laminate (plastic coat) student projects or bind “booklets”.  These activities are done on a daily basis and run on a weekly schedule.  Each volunteer is expected to work one hour one day a week depending on your availability. 

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION:
 
Volunteers greet parents and children and assist in registering kindergarteners one day in April, either in the morning or afternoon.

LIBRARY:
 
Volunteers help the librarian with various duties.  Times and days depend on your availability. 

POPCORN:   
Volunteers pop and bag popcorn using a popcorn machine on Wednesday mornings. There are two shifts each Wednesday, the first beginning between 6:30 and 7:00 am and ending at 8:30 am and a second shift starting between 8:00 and 8:30 am and ending around 10:30 am.  We work in teams and alternate weeks.
 

PTO EVENTS/COMMITTEES: 
Helping to plan and organize various PTO events.  Whether you can only help with set up or clean up, it is appreciated. 

PTO MEETING REFRESHMENTS:
 
Volunteers to provide refreshments and drinks for the monthly PTO meetings held the first Tuesday night of each month.

ROOM PARENT: 
Assists the teacher with extracurricular activities.  Requires making phone calls to classroom parents as needed.

Summer Help:  
Summer help will be asked to spend time in the office at school helping to sort mail and photocopying in late August prior to the start of the new school year.
