Agenda: Regular Meeting

Tuesday April 6, 2010

Time: 7:00 PM

1.    Call to Order – Kevin Phelan 7:09 p.m.

2.    Minutes from previous meeting; Approved by Jen Lenox; 2^nd by Anne Desaulniers

3.    All in attendance were: Cleopatra, Rebecca Burke, Michelle Carrier, Mrs. Macdonald, Anne Desaulniers, Ann Marie Briggs, Melissa Carver, Amy Merrow, Jen Lenox, Tammy Webb, Kevin Phelan, Jess Hawkom, Jenn Steele, and James Burke

4.    Reports

·        President’s Report (Kevin Phelan) – Kevin reported that we have a rep from Market America to discuss fundraiser this evening

·        Correspondence (Wendy Hudson) – Nothing to report

·        Principal’s Report (Liz MacDonald) – Liz reported on our AYP test results being Great. There will be an award ceremony again this year in June, where there will be a lot of recipients.  Enrichment night was a great success.  The children enjoyed themselves. Mrs. Mac touched on kindergarten registration being at See Science Center.  A flyer has gone home regarding same.

·        Treasurer’s Report (Tammy Webb) – We have roughly $11,000.00 in the bank.  After the remaining events of the year we will be on target with our usual balance of roughly $3000.00 to end the school year. 

·        Campbell’s LFE (Dee Kinney); Dee has taken care of the deposits to Campbell’s and is just tallying numbers to see where we stand.  Same with box tops.

5.    Old Business

·        Yankee Candle Fund Raiser Update- We made an estimated $11,000 in the fundraiser.  We will know definite numbers from Wendy this week. 

·        Enrichment Night- Great success, thank you to all faculty, Mrs. Mac, parents, teachers and especially children for a great event. 

6.    New Business

·        TR Brennan’s Update (Garth Courriveau) Garth couldn’t make it this evening, but he shares our concerns of traffic and congestion during school hours.  There is talk about a Dunkin Donuts possibly going into that location. 

·        Teacher Appreciation – The theme was discussed, and a sheet was passed around to individuals interested in helping out this year.  If you couldn’t make the meeting and are interested in joining in the fun and volunteering please email Becky Burke at burke.becky@comcast.net

·        Fundraising Committee

                                                             i.      Market America- Denise Sherwood attended our meeting this evening and showed us the details for Market America for a possible fundraiser. 

                                                           ii.      Coupon Books- The coupon books are turning out to be a hot item.  You can purchase one through this email or on our PTO website.  They are $20 ea and are filled with Restaurant, car care, golfing, and lots of other great bargains/discounts.

·        Yearbook – Yearbook is doing great. They may be roughly $30.00 short and may need to ask PTO for additional funds.  They met on April 7, 2010 and will update the PTO next month. 

·        Adjournment – Jamie Burke made motion to adjourn, and Jenn Steele 2^nd.
