4) Old Business
a.
Sweat Heart Dance Wrap Up – The dance was another
huge success. Photographer did a great job. DJ was great as well and has offered his
services next year as well. Budget committee will be looking at raising this budget again next year, once
they look at the final expenditures.
5)
New Business
a. www.westonelementarypto.org – The new Website was rolled out at the talent show. Business cards with the address were given
out to those who attended the talent show. As of last week this site was linked from the MANSD.ORG school
website. So now, whoever accessed the PTO link on the Weston Site will be directed to the PTO sponsored
web site. To date the site has had over 5000 page hits. This is going to be a great
tool for communication.
b. Spring Fund Raiser – Wendy Hudson has been in contact with Yankee Candle
as we will be doing this fund raiser as in past years. Packets will go out 3rd week in March.
Kevin will be sending out a letter indicating how the funds raised will be benefiting the PTO funds. We
will also be offering incentives this year, which Mrs. Mac said she would split the cost with the PTO. As
in years past Mrs. Mac will get 50% of the funds raised to support her projects. Incentives:
Top Selling Class = Pizza Party, 3 top individual sellers $50 @ Toys R Us. The
top overall seller will be Principal for a day. Jamie Burke offered to help Wendy Hudson organize class
and individual tracking of the totals as we get collect the order sheets.
c. Fund
Raising Committee – Jenn Steele will be heading up the fund raising committee for the 2010-2011 school year.
She is soliciting suggestions as to new fund raisers. The committee will review the current
fundraisers and will look to see if we are getting the best return we can. The goal is to NOT overburden
the kids/parents with fund raisers in this slow economic climate. Initial meeting will be set and the committee
members will be notified with the details of when and where the meeting will take place. If you want to
be on this committee and have not signed up please contact Jenn Steele.
d. Election
of Officers for School Year 2010-2011 – Kevin is going to submit a By-Law change so the terms of the officers will be
2 years, not just one as the current By-Laws state. Nominations should be done at the 2nd to
